The Sohal Tang (Acanthurus sohal) is also known as the Sohal Surgeonfish, Red Sea Clown Tang and less commonly the Zebra Surgeon, Majestic Tang, Majestic Surgeon, Zebra Tang, and Arabian Tang. It is found in the Red Sea, to the Persian Gulf and the Arabian Sea.
The Sohal Tang is a beautiful fish and a great addition to any aquarium unfortunately it is rarely seen due to the high cost,
They are best identified by striking blue and white horizontal stripes and jet black fins with bright blue borders, and some orange markings behind their pectoral fins and at the base of their tail.
The Sohal Tang can be quite aggressive to other tank mates, so a large tank is required to house this beauty, with plenty of live rock to form hiding holes and lots of space will give the other aquarium inhabitants places to swim and hide away from the aggression of the Sohal Tang.
The Sohal Tang is best kept as the only tang (and probably best to be only large species) in your fish only or reef Tank.
As with all Tangs the Sohal can be beneficial in helping pick at hair algae, they tend to spend their days swimming around picking at rockwork in search for hair algae to eat.
